One hot day, an Ant was searching for some water to drink. After walking around for some time, she came to a spring.

Un día muy caluroso, una Hormiga buscaba algo de agua para calmar su sed. Después de dar varias vueltas llegó hasta un manantial.

To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water.

Para llegar hasta el manantial debió trepar una larga hoja de pasto. Mientras trepaba resbaló y cayó al agua.

A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The Ant climbed onto it and floated in safety to the bank.

Una Paloma que se encontraba sobre un árbol desprendió una hoja y se la arrojó a la corriente. La Hormiga subió a la hoja y así flotó a salvo hasta la orilla.

Just at that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net towards the Dove, hoping to trap it.

Mientras tanto un cazador de la zona colocaba su red cerca de la Paloma, tratando de cazarla.

Guessing what he was about to do, the Ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net, and then the Dove was quick to fly away to safety.

Imaginando lo que estaba por hacer, la Hormiga se apuró a picarlo en el talón. Al sentir el dolor, el cazador soltó la red y entonces la Paloma aprovechó para alzar vuelo y salvarse.
